‘Meet me in the council room,’ I tell Turgan in the mind-link. ‘Summon the others.’

Assanan’s warriors have been spotted again on our side of the border. A deep growl escapes my throat, and my wolf inside salivates at the thought of ending the Forest Alpha with its sharp canines.

My warriors know better than to take him down in battle.
