Maggie POV
“Why didn’t you help me?!” Mrs. Fahler cries. “Why did you let that awful Alpha King drag me away from my home?”
“I couldn’t,” I argue.
“You could!” she counters. “All you had to do was run out the door and stop them! It was on fire! My daughter is missing!”
“But I—”
“No! I’m tired of hearing excuses,” she insists. “My home burned to the ground, and it’s all your fault!”
