It’s not ideal, without my mother present at the event to welcome Lyra as my Luna, and without a proper wedding ceremony, but it will take well over a week to return by sea after refueling in the Winter Realm.

And I do not intend to sleep in separate rooms, as I know my mother would insist on at home. It’s taken every ounce of self-control just to make it through this night, knowing she is resting in the room down the hall with Maggie.

Desires aside, it’s prudent that we seal the mate bond long before we return to Oceana. I’m not foolish enough to think that Nolan had no other accomplices.

No doubt, there is a coalition in my castle seeking to usurp my power simply because the Goddess gave me a human as a mate. I hate to admit that I felt uncertain about having a mate at first, but it is true.
