Cassian POV
Her scent envelops me before she steps through the door, and hearing my name escape her lips soothes me even more. Now that we’re married, even a few hours of separation troubles my wolf.
“I don’t know,” I answer her honestly. “A messenger from the temple came for me, but she didn’t tell me what the High Priestess wanted.”
She closes the distance between us, and I take her into my arms. We linger for a moment, but we’re both too troubled with what may be wrong here to embrace for long.
