Paige’s POV

"Do you want me to come over there?" Crystina asked from the other end of the line. I shook my head as if she could see me. That was my best friend. She was always ready to come to my rescue like I was some damsel and she was my prince charming.

After several days of mopping and locking myself in my room, I found the courage to call my parents and I asked them to tell me the truth and not leave any stone unturned. Even though they were both adamant at first, my mother cracked first. She told me she had begged my father not to do it but he didn’t listen. My father didn’t talk to me even after I was done talking to my mom and I didn’t care.
