“Hello?” Xander shouted on the other end of the line, but his conversation partner was no longer there. He angrily dropped his cell phone on his desk.
He couldn’t believe Briella had left without saying goodbye or speaking to him. She went to Bali with her stupid assistant! That hurt his ego! Briella had never spent much on him, and whenever he mentioned her inheritance, she quickly changed the subject.
“So? Where is she? Is it true she’s in Bali?” Matilda impatiently asked him.
He didn’t answer, lost in thought. He still couldn’t understand why his fiancée was avoiding him. Her behavior had changed, and he always felt her sarcasm whenever they talked—had something happened that he didn’t know about?
