Upon hearing Blauch’s question, Maverick's expression turned blank, and he sneered coldly. “Like her? She’s not worthy of it.” He rebutted aloofly.
An enigmatic glint flickered past Blauch Vandanberg's eyes as if he had been enlightened. He struck the floor with his stick, a cheerful smile plastered on his face. “Don’t regret it when you lose it.” He solemnly expressed and patted Maverick’s shoulder. His expression suddenly changed to a light-hearted one again. “Play chess with this old man. That father of yours is a good-for-nothing when it comes to playing chess...”
“Hehehe. Hearing my father badmouth me in front of my son as soon as I step into the mansion isn’t a good thing.” A loud laugh suddenly filled the mansion, interjecting their conversation. Gerz Vandenberg, a handsome man in his forties, stepped into the mansion while holding a briefcase. His black eyes landed on Maverick, and a trace of bewilderment flickered past his eyes as if he never expected
