"Unfortunately, it's the truth," she replied, shaking her head in mock disappointment, as if embodying the role of a judgmental elder.
"You mentioned you had questions for me, Lucia. Are you still interested in asking them?" I inquired.
"Absolutely, I have questions. Though I've got many, I'll focus on the important ones. But before we dive in, please take a seat. I'd rather not become Rena's target again," Lucia responded sarcastically, which prompted an eye roll from Rena.
We all settled into our seats, Rena finding a place next to me initially, then Alma sitting between us. Lucia and Sebastian occupied the single sofas across from us.
"Could you tell us how you and Rena met?" Sebastian posed suddenly.
"Didn't we agree that I would be the one asking the questions?" Lucia interjected, but her words were brushed aside.
