Arthur arrived at the dune camp late. His cloak melted into the darkness as he moved quietly so as not to wake anyone. His footsteps were light as a cat’s as he weaved around the tents at high speed, heading for his own. Elena had left him in the tent to rest hours ago, but he left to confront Meredith, and now he had to return before she would notice.
As he darted through the camp, his eyes moved between the tents claimed by the fire. Structures around the camp had burned to the ground, and weapons, armor, and food supplies were destroyed.
