Chapter 229. The Letter

Lord Ravin Serpentine, head of the Men of the Round Table, stared down at the letter Erika had received for a long moment. The other seven council members, Analyn, and I watched from our seats around the large circular table as he read. His eyes moved from line to line as he absorbed the message. Then he lifted his gaze.

“It’s a letter from Argaria,” Ravin said.

“Well, we already know that,” one of the elders replied. “What does it say?”

“The chief apologizes on behalf of his people for the delay in food supplies to our region and plans to rectify it by doubling what we’ll receive this season. They intend to do the same for all regions affected by the ongoing Heptagon war and hope the conflict will end soon,” Ravin said.

“That’s impossible,” Elena retorted, her brows furrowing. “Argaria was destroyed. Its people were killed.”
