Chapter 23. The Third Challenge

"Third challenge," Julian answered without taking his eyes off the phone. The document displayed on the screen seemed to be more interesting than Mia.

"Third challenge?" the girl muttered guessing.

"Do you forget?" Julian asked flatly. After one quick breath, the man finally lowered the phone and returned the girl's gaze. "We are approaching the third challenge."

While blinking stiffly, Mia urged her tongue to move. "Yes. I remember. What I mean is where the challenge lies," the girl stated timidly. For the first time, the secretary hesitated to ask the CEO for information.

Unexpectedly, the corners of Julian's lips curled up slightly. "You'll find out later," he said before turning his attention to the phone.

In just an instant, Mia felt neglected again. Without realizing it, disappointment began to color her sad eyes.
