SCOTT
We got off the elevator. Only one door had a policeman in front of it, so we headed that way. He stood as we approached.
"We're here to see the patient," I explained.
"You are?"
"The patient lives with me. I'm a very good friend."
"Your name?"
"Scott Rivers."
"Husband to the other woman they brought in?"
"Yes, sir."
"Detectives were looking for the husband of one of the women."
"I don't believe it's me, but if they want to talk, I'll talk. I want to know what happened."
"How do I know it's not you?"
"Because he was in Los Angeles attending a class," Marcia said. "I just drove him up here under the most god awful traffic you've ever seen, following a California Highway Patrolman, lights and siren, otherwise he'd only be halfway here by now."
