Chapter 12. Not My Woman
I turned to look next to me as Rupert sat there…his face was red, and I knew he was a bit drunk.
“Enjoying?” He asked, and I saw him put his hand on the back of my back. I adjusted my seat and smiled at him.
“Of course…” I looked at Monica, who was busy with the woman she was talking to next to her. Rupert’s touch makes me feel uncomfortable. I get tired of his closeness to me.
“Shall I bring you later?” He turned to me.
I shook my head instantly. “I’m only up until ten o’clock. Besides, I have someone to pick me up.” I lied.
“Who?”
His question bothered me. I don’t want Marco’s name to be tarnished because of me. No one knows except Monica.
“Just a friend,” I simply said, gulping the drink again.
“Maria!!” I looked at Monica.
“Huh, why?”
“I’ll be going first, Dad outside.” she even grinned at what she said while scratching her head.
