Chapter 130. Confronting Ryder
After dinner, the twins were finally better. The fever had reduced, and they were sleeping soundly. Brooklyn returned to the bedroom to catch up on her sleep. Nikolas had already packed his suitcase and was ready to leave early. He was waiting for her on the bed when she entered the room.
“Why didn’t you sleep? You need to wake up early tomorrow,” she reminded him.
“You know I can’t sleep without you in my arms,” he said, opening his arms out to her.
Brooklyn gladly went into them, laying her head on his chest, listening to his steady breathing.
“How will you sleep then in the Willamette Valley house without me?” she asked him eagerly.
“I won’t,” he answered with a sigh.
“Video call me when you’re done with your work. I’ll be waiting for your call all day,” she said, holding onto his torso and closing her eyes.
“You can always call me anytime you want to,” said Nikolas, closing his eyes as well.
