“I’m so sorry, Nikolas. If only I had stayed, I would have met her,” whispered Brooklyn.
“It’s okay, Brooklyn. It’s my fault that you left,” said Nikolas. “Come here. Let me introduce you to my mama,” he said, drawing her forward.
“Mama, meet Brooklyn. Bless us please, today’s our wedding day,” he said, leading her towards a huge oil painting of his mom.
“Hello, mama. I promise you I’ll keep your son happy,” she whispered, leaning closer to the painting.
Nikolas smiled and hugged her from behind.
“I’ll take you up on that,” he whispered in her ears.
A throat cleared from the doorway and he released her, almost startled. The two female attendants grinned at them as they stood near the door.
“Time to get ready,” said one of them in a sing-song tone.
Nikolas smiled and turned towards Brooklyn.
“I want a first look. So after you get ready, meet me near the koi pond on the lawn,” he said with a smile.
