Chapter 41. Brooklyn Finally Meets Brandon

“What problem, officer?” he asked, pulling Brooklyn closer to him with his other arm around her shoulders.

“Last night, two of Freddie Miller’s men tried to break into Brandon’s room at the hospital, attacking our men guarding the place,” said officer Warner. Brooklyn gasped with horror as a sob escaped her mouth. “We have a very dangerous criminal here with a vast network of accomplices at every nook and corner to catch you off guard. I would suggest that you be very careful, Mr. Ardolf,” said the officer.

“Is Brandon okay? Have the police arrested the criminals yet?” asked Nikolas with a frown, feeling worried hearing about the grave danger they were in.

“Yeah, Brandon is fine. He has gained consciousness. Why don’t you visit him today?” asked the officer.

“I will,” said Nikolas.

“The criminals have been arrested, but I don’t think this is the end of the ordeal,” said officer Warner. “The hospital might release Brandon today. I feel you should take hi
