Chapter 46. Taking Care of Her

His body still throbbed from the touch of hers, his lips still stung from the searing kiss, the first one he had experienced so far, but she had rejected him. His pride was battered as a million questions flitted across his mind. Why had she rejected him? Was it because he was too old for her? “Speak up, dammit,” he growled impatiently, making her jump with fright.

“I need two packs of sanitary napkins, please,” she whispered. Nikolas tried hard to pick up what she had just whispered to him, but failed to catch a single word.

“What do you need?” he asked with a scowl. Brooklyn’s face contorted as a cramp hit her abdomen. She held onto her stomach and looked up at him helplessly.
