Nadine

Tears blur my vision, and I can’t hold them back anymore. The dam I’ve been holding up for so long finally breaks, and the overwhelming emotions are like a tidal wave. 

Ethan’s kindness and his unwavering patience—even after everything I’ve put him through—shake me to my core. I don’t deserve him.  

I’ve spent so much time shutting him out, drowning in my fears and insecurities, convinced that distancing myself was the only way to protect my heart. 

But Ethan is still here. He’s not angry. He’s not accusing me of anything. He’s only focused on what truly matters—the baby.  

Ethan steps closer. "Nadine, I don’t care about anything else right now. We need to make sure you and the baby are okay. That’s all that matters to me." 

I sniffle, wiping at my cheeks with the back of my hand. "I’m sorry, Ethan," I whisper, my voice barely audible. "I was just so scared… of everything."
