Chapter 37

Nelly was startled by the manner in which the car pulled over in front of her. 

"Amon?" Nelly looked surprised. 

"It's me, Nelly. Why do you look so surprised?" 

Why would she not be? She never knew he had such a fanciful ride. 

Nelly stared down at his hands and saw him holding a rose, and a fanciful little box, possibly, containing a gift. 

"Happy birthday, Nelly."

Nelly was perplexed, she didn't remember ever telling Amon that her birthday was that very day. She didn't even tell anybody in the office. It was all Amanda's doing, Amanda secretly informed Neuer. 

"C'mon Nelly, you don't have to look at me as if I'm too much of a stranger to wish you a happy birthday." 

That wasn't it, but Nelly preferred not to say. She had a strong reason to believe it was Amanda who informed Amon about her birthday. 

"Thank you, Amon." Nelly accepted the flower and the gift box. 

"Nah! Do not o
