Chapter 93. Argument
Rachel said that Rodney would send them home, but it was Deon who drove them back instead. Celia and Shannon sat at the back while Rodney was in the passenger seat. Although there were four of them in the car, the atmosphere was unusually depressing. Not one word was spoken on the way.
Deon glanced at Rodney in confusion. Why did he feel that Rodney was in a bad mood? What happened?
When they arrived at the Black family, Rodney did not get out of the car. Celia, too, did not cling to him as usual. Instead, she bid goodbye to him sensibly and left.
As Rodney’s car vanished from their visions, Celia exhaled and asked, “Mom, do you think Rachel believed what you told her?”
