“Stop being pessimistic, duh. I bet he’ll be thrilled to see me in this.”
Avery wore a purple dress that was only inches below her knees.
Joey gave her heels, but she exchanged them for sneakers.
And she picked up one of her unfinished books and dropped it into her bag. In case she arrived there before Aaron did, the book would keep her company.
Of course, she wouldn’t let Joey tag along all the way to their dinner table. She would stand in the distance and see for herself that her Aaron was real.
Avery had made that clear on their way out of her apartment building.
It was 7 PM when they boarded a cab that took them straight to Luxury Cuisines Eatery.
They arrived there at 7:30 PM, and Avery brought the card out of her bag and dialed Nicole’s number.
