Chapter 10. A New Life

Aaron’s sleep was interrupted the next morning by the constant ringing of the doorbell.

He left the bedroom, walking past the living room where Nicole lay sprawled on the couch with the TV remote dangling from his hand.

“Wake up.” Aaron kicked his leg, proceeding toward the door.

He pulled the door open and was met with a young lady dressed in a smart business suit.

“Good morning, Mr. Hernandez. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” she extended her hand, smiling.

“Good morning.” Aaron gave her hand a fleeting glance and said, “How may I help you?”

“Oh, forgive me for my bad manners; I should have introduced myself first.” The lady dropped her hand. “My name is Sofia Joseph. I’m a real estate broker. Mr. Crystal sent me to you; I believe you have been expecting my arrival.”
