Her smirk gives me goosebumps and curiosity. Maybe this is Amara's special ability, to make someone feel intimidated anytime she wants. 

However, that's not what I felt. I feel my cheeks burning red, I'm… I'm blushing. Golly. A man is blushing over a woman? 

My head suddenly throbbed…

"I want to talk to Amara!"

"There's no time for that. You need to go home! NOW!"
