The Arrival in Las Vegas

As soon as they landed, Brandon and Lucas left the airport. Before heading to their hotel, Brandon made a quick stop to buy a new phone and a new SIM card.

Lucas frowned as he watched Brandon set up the new device. “What’s with the new phone?”

Brandon didn’t look up as he inserted the SIM card. “I think my old phone was tapped. Bernardo can hear all my calls.”

Lucas stiffened. “How do you know?”

“I don’t. It’s just a gut feeling.”

Lucas exhaled, watching as Brandon changed into fresh clothes. “Where are you going?”

Brandon didn’t hesitate. “To meet Bernardo.”

Lucas shot up from his seat. “I’m coming with you.”

“No, you’re not,” Brandon said firmly. “Just make sure the plane is ready. Have it drop off at either North Las Vegas Airport or Henderson Executive Airport, not McCarran.”
