Chapter 19
Derrick really wished he had kept his mouth shut thirty minutes ago when he saw Zac sit down in a booth not too far away from him and his friends with a pretty-looking woman beside him.
She had to be the one Zac kept talking about because she fit the description perfectly. He had even described her down the constantly bemused look on her face.
It wasn’t bemused right now, though. It was calculating.
“You never mentioned anything about knowing her,” Lloyd muttered to David, though his face was aimed toward the table. It wasn’t just him that had difficulty in making eye contact. Everyone was either very engrossed in their phones, counting the number of lines on the ceiling in an attempt to not listen in, or unashamedly looking at Heather and David like they were the last episode of their favorite TV drama.
She shrugged.
“No, it’s fine. If I cheated on someone just for the fun of it, I wouldn’t tell anyone about it either,” Heather said with a lazy smile.
