“I have never seen a more beautiful bride-to-be in my life, Alpha,” a young male voice said behind me as I stood in front of the long mirror, wearing yellow, flowing robes, accessorized with a floral tiara and flower made jewellery for the traditional turmeric ceremony.

Lex’s family was going to conduct the ritual along with my parents and siblings, applying turmeric paste all over my face, arms and feet before I took the great bath in rose essence waters.
