“Tell him,” Hayden said quietly. His gaze was locked on Beck, who was still looking at the floor.
Myla nudged Beck when he refused to say anything. “Beck, he is talking to you.”
Beck’s jaw tightened. “Guys...”
“Tell him,” Hayden repeated, firmer this time. “This... this is exactly what I did not want.”
Beck looked up at Jared. He waited a beat before answering. “...Nothing,” he said finally. “We are not talking about anything.”
That was the wrong answer.
Jared’s expression changed instantly. The tension in his body snapped tight like a pulled wire. “You guys realize that this is bullshit, right?” he growled, walking further into the room. “Fucking bullshit!”
