“I am going in for the surgery tomorrow by noon,” Hayden said flatly, as if saying it long enough would make time feel organized. “All the surgeons have finally flown in.”
“No.” Myla snapped, looking at him, her voice small and sharp at once. “No. You don’t say ‘tomorrow’ like that… like you’re talking about a dinner date or something. And expect us not to panic.”
