“Afterwards, Mom had to work two jobs. I tried to help out the best I could. I bought everything I could used. Hell, even my bras and panties came from secondhand thrift stores or Goodwill,” she explained.

“I just wanted to not be a big burden money-wise to Mom. Her jobs were crappy and paid poorly. Kim and Sam even gave me their clothes they didn’t want. Hell, half the stuff they gave me they bought brand new to give me.” Raine paused to see how the guys were taking in what she’d said.

“I can imagine the kids at school. Were they mean to you?” Jax asked.
