Chapter 15. Act Like a Rebel
Georgia’s POV
Pacheco strides closely right behind us as we enter the convenience store. Ennio is already paranoid, and I can tell that by the scowl on his face, he isn’t too happy about being dragged from one store to another.
We enter the store, and I hurriedly walk to the sanitary towels aisle. Ennio follows close behind, and through my peripheral vision, I can see his face turn pale.
“This is the reason you wanted to go out? You could have told me, amore.”
I couldn’t tell him because it would be weird. Things with him are always weird because, just for once, I want to do something that pleases me. Something for me without him being around me to watch my every move. I guess I thought that coming up with an excuse for wanting to go shopping would give me some sort of freedom, and now? Boy, I regret wanting to go out in the first place.
“Right, so you could stop me from leaving the house?” I ask, agitatedly picking a pack of tampons from the shelf.
