Chapter 17. Safety Is of the Utmost Importance

Georgia’s POV

My heart pulsates with the sound of the gunshots flying in the air like pigs. Poor choice of words on my part, but I’m scared to the bone. I peek outside my window, and the scene outside is unflattering. I’m pretty sure after all this, I won’t be eating meat for a while.

My thoughts travel to Ennio and Stefano. Did Stefano catch Ennio? Did he find Cara? Is the fight outside because of me? Are those Stefano’s men coming to rescue me?

My nerves bite me inch by inch as I hold onto the one thing I’ve been carrying the whole day.

What I did was unlike me. Kissing him in order to steal his phone was a bold attempt that I never saw coming. But for Cara, I would do anything.
