Alpha Aiden’s POV

“Why did you come back?” Liam growled, his voice deep and menacing.

I was taken aback, surprised by his hostility. I had never expected such a reaction from my best friend.

“Of course I came back to my pack,” I said, looking at him to see if maybe he had hit his head somewhere.

Liam continued to glare at me, his expression unchanged. Just as I was about to speak again, he suddenly broke out into a grin.

“I’m just messing with you, friend” he said, laughing.

With that, he lunged forward and pulled me into a tight embrace. I was caught off guard, but soon found myself laughing as well.

“It’s good to have you back, you should have seen your face” Liam said and laughed, clapping me on the back.

I smiled, relieved and happy to be back among my pack, my best friend, everyone.

“It’s good to be back,” I said, looking around at the familiar faces of my pack mates as I walked back inside.
