Alexa’s POV 

“No, not like that!” She waved her hands trying to convince me. I looked through her eyes and she was panicked, she didn't want history to be brought back to light but it didn't seem far away. I wanted to know the truth. 

“So I've been replaced?” Lucius asked calmly, the very tone which I found disturbing. I rose from my seat to walk to him but he already rose quickly and was heading towards the door.

“What was I supposed to do? It's not my fault. I was diagnosed with a brain tumor and I needed to fund the surgery with two hundred thousand dollars within two years. These Alphas employed me to take care of their daughter for thousands of dollars monthly, by fate, this girl happened to be my baby I gave out for adoption.” 

Lucius who was reaching out for the door stopped right on his tracks. “Don't tell me you have a baby with them?” He questioned, slowly turning his face towards me. 

“You didn't even get what I said,” I scoffed.
