Chapter 96

Cameron's POV 

I pull up to Alexa's apartment, feeling a sense of responsibility wash over me. I know she's been through a lot this night, she can't even lift a finger and I want to make sure she's safe and sound.

I carry her out of the car and walk with her to her door, making sure she's steady on her feet which proved to be difficult. She smiles up at me, her eyes sparkling with gratitude.

"Thanks, Cameron," she says, her voice soft. "I don't know how I would have gotten home without you."

I smile back, feeling a warmth in my chest. "You'll never have to find out," I say, unlocking her door and ushering her inside.

I help her settle in, making sure she has everything she needs. I fetch her a glass of water, and sit with her on the couch until she seems relaxed and comfortable.

As I prepare to leave, she reaches out and takes my hand. "Thank you," she says again, her eyes serious. "Thank you for taking care of me."

I squeeze her hand gently.
