Chapter 14. A Friendly Advice

Genevieve’s POV

I could feel everyone’s stares at me as I stood with Nolan. It made me feel very uncomfortable. It was like they were all waiting for me to make a mistake. Also, the exchange between Nolan and Owen didn’t make things easier. I glanced back to see Owen’s retreating back.

"Absolutely. You know I’m always available for you little kitten," Nolan replied, making me turn towards him.

"Not here. Somewhere more private without your minions," I responded. He smiled widely.

"A secret meeting. Sounds more interesting. I know just the perfect place. You all heard her, we need privacy. Follow my lead," he said loudly before walking out. I sighed and followed after him hurriedly amidst the cheers and whispers. I kept my gaze on his back as we walked. I didn’t want to look at anyone or find out what they were thinking.
