Chapter 34. Compromise and Restrictions

Genevieve’s POV

I barely got through the rest of the school day and I was glad when it finally ended. All I wanted was to go home and curl into a ball but I had to go for my part-time job. This was the first time I didn’t feel excited going over to Betty’s diner. The bus finally stopped and we got down. Only Jade and I had a shift today.

"Are you okay?" Jade asked in a worried tone as we walked in and picked up our uniforms.

"Of course. Why won’t I be?" I responded.
