Nolan’s POV

I stared at her retreating in surprise. She didn’t speak rudely or stubbornly today but there was something about her that was different. I just didn’t know what it was. She looked…lost.

"Boss, that girl is so rude. Why do you still tolerate her?" Tyler asked.

"Because I want her," I replied absent-mindedly.

"But why her? There are so many girls in this school and beyond who would do anything just to get noticed by you. Why don’t you choose from one of them like you used to?" he inquired.
