Chapter 101. The Careless and the Heavy Rain
Winona narrowed her eyes as the wind blew dust against her face. With both hands, she tried to protect her face while still walking. She was completely unaware that there was a hole in front of her that was being repaired. The danger marker had flown away in the gale, and Winona walked right up to it.
Suddenly, Winona felt something bump into her from the side, causing her to fall onto the grass at the edge of the sidewalk.
“Unlucky!” Winona exclaimed.
But when she turned around, there was no one around. Winona looked around her, but no one had bumped into her. She then realized that there was a hole in the pavement in front of her. The danger marker and the barrier for the hole had been damaged by the strong wind. Winona’s heart was beating fast because whoever had bumped into her had saved her life.
Winona swallowed hard; she could already guess who had done it. She decided to ignore it and continued walking toward the supermarket. The strong winds had died
