Chapter 113. Pretend You Don't Like It
Zidant felt increasingly cornered during this debate. He sensed the pressure from several members who wanted to see a change in leadership within their mafia family. For him, the struggle to maintain his father's position as the mafia boss was becoming more challenging, and he needed to find a way to overcome these differences of opinion.
In the dimly lit meeting room, the tension grew as some mafia members expressed their annoyance with Zidant. They sat around a large table, and their facial expressions reflected their dissatisfaction. One member, a high-ranking successor within the mafia family, began speaking sharply.
"He keeps rejecting the girls we offer," he complained. "We need to ensure the safety of our family from major attacks, like what happened 15 years ago. We must maintain the security and stability of our family."
Other members voiced their frustration, as they believed Zidant seemed unwilling to marry one of the girls who had been arranged for him.
