“It's unpleasant!” Veronica growled.

Helene seemed to be pretending to be defeated earlier to take advantage of the chance to drop something into her ice cream. Jaxon was well-known for his irritability and terrible temper. If he ate the ice cream, he would torment Veronica to death. It's a clever yet foolish technique.
