Chapter 33. Evidence

Veronica saw the majestic ceiling in her eyes as she awoke in a trance. She was so dizzy that she couldn't tell the difference between dreams and reality.

“Uncomfortable.” Her body seemed to disintegrate as she gradually opened her eyes and saw an infusion tube and bottle. "I'm not dead. How could I have the chance to live? I was in the woods earlier and now in a large, unoccupied bedroom."

"O-Oh." Veronica struggled to sit up on the vast bed. She was too weak to move. "Werewolves are supposed to heal fast. Why is my body so fragile–"

She suddenly stopped as soon as she raised her head and saw a tall and slender figure standing at the end of the bed. "Seemed like I'm still in hell," she mumbled, which could be heard by the man with sharp hearing ability.
