Chapter 78. Investigation

Uriel didn't know what he would answer to Jaxon. The truth was, he tried to ask Ava about it because they were friends--- childhood friends, to be exact. However, Ava didn't say anything about Veronica.

What would he do next? He even asked someone to spy on her pack, but they didn't see her. He only gambled because it was Ava, Veronica's sister. He thought that Veronica might ask Ava for her help especially since she was the Alpha of this pack.

He gulped when Jaxon gave him a cold gaze. His Alpha expected him to announce good news after they did everything to find Veronica's body. He was certain Jaxon could not sleep properly because Morgan and Veronica weren't with him.

“My apologies, Alpha. I went to her pack, and she didn't say anything. Did you forget that Veronica was cast out of their pack when she got pregnant with Morgan? They have a conservative pack, and they disliked the idea that their future Alpha got pregnant without having a mate.” Uriel informed him
