Chapter 25. Confused
I’m late for work because I spent way too much time at the library. I have to be at work in twenty minutes.
As soon as I get to the top of the stairs, I run down them and open the door to my apartment. I didn’t think anyone would be home because it was late and dark inside. It was Wednesday, and Asher was at football practice, Caleb had a night class, and Nash wasn’t usually home at this time.
More and more, I learned that Nash was a gym rat. He liked to exercise twice a day if he could, jog, and eat the same well-balanced meals on the same days of the week. It was definitely the work of a psychopath whose mind was so full of routines and order that it made me sick.
When I open the door to my apartment, I hear the worst sound I can think of. There were sounds like a headboard hitting the wall and a mattress squeaking and moaning. I’m just standing still in the doorway as they come from down the hall. I’d like to go.
I go back to the ledge and look for the key
