Chapter 32. Deserved It

"You always call me that." He laughs at me because I don’t give up.

"I’m not talking down to you on purpose." He tells me this while he’s putting his hand on my hip, and I can feel my brain starting to get foggy.

I only look at him briefly, but even though it’s dark, his green eyes are electric. I know you don’t like me very much, but thank you for everything. He shakes his head when I speak slowly.

"Chloe, I wouldn’t have done any of this if I didn’t like you." When he tells me, my eyes get big. "Listen, I know I’m not very smart. Since you moved in, I’m sorry I haven’t done much to make you happy. People and I just don’t get along." He’s mad. "I know that’s not a good reason, but there’s something I want you to know."

"Okay." He nods when I speak slowly.

"People have probably told you that I jump from girl to girl to get what I want and that I sleep with a lot of different men. I sigh wh
