Chapter 74. Family

I didn’t know what to say, and even though my mouth was open, no sound came out. This was crazy, because New York was so expensive, but Nash would know how it worked. His family had a lot of money, so I could do all the things I’d always wanted to do there.

"Anything you want Chloe, I’ll do it. I’ll be your personal tour guide." He says it again, and I sigh.

"My family...," etc.

"You just saw your parents, so tell your mom the truth that you’re going with me, but promise her you’ll be home for dinner on Sunday." He asks for money, and I chew my lower lip.

"Do we have to, like, pretend to be together?"

"Only when my parents are around." He is quiet. "Please, Chloe, you can have anything you want." Anything I want? Nash said he would do anything I asked, but he never did because he couldn’t. This was just too cool to pass up.

"Okay!" When I mumble, he breaks into this smile.
