Chapter 211. A Compromise

I yanked my arm out of his grasp and rubbed where his hand had made contact with my skin. It slightly burned. For a second, I felt like I saw regret in his eyes, but then it was replaced by a hard emotion that I did not know how to decipher. 

“I am not yours.” My words were firm and I could feel the adrenaline rushing through my body. I was really annoyed and if I was pushed again, I would definitely crash out. I knew that. 

He stood to his feet and addressed the suit that he wore. “I kind of do, Rue. I bought you. Not once, but twice. I paid really good money for you. I own you, dear.” 

My heart did a flip and I swallowed, the knot in my throat getting bigger. Tears filled my eyes and I tried my best not to let them drop. He already saw me as weak, I did not want to confirm this to him, even though, that was how I felt at the moment.

I wanted to run my hand through my hair but I knew that I could not even do that because it was in a bun. “What do you
