Chapter 234. Another Shoe Dropping

My heart skipped a beat and I almost choked on the bacon that I had chewed. My eyes widened and I stared back at him like a deer caught in headlights. 

How did he know? Or he might just be guessing, right? Should I lie, or should I tell the truth? 

“I…um…” 

He shook his head and rolled his eyes playfully. “Just admit it, Rue, it’s written all over your face. You went through my phone, and that confuses me because it makes me feel like you think that I am hiding something when I’m not.” 

“I read your emails, you want to use me as part of a plan to take back the land that Zach took away from you and your pack.” 

He yawned as if he was bored. “And so? I wasn’t hiding that from you though. I think the first day that we trained, I even told you that you were my secret weapon for a plan of mine.” He shrugged. 

I opened my mouth to speak but I did not even know what to say. Darco did not look like he even cared that I had read his
