Chapter 41. Torn Between Decisions

I still wanted to understand, I wanted to know what he was saying. He had just said that I would not be leaving and a part of me was clinging to his words so tightly. 

But he had also explained that his role as Alpha was threatened. And that was all because of me. 

“I’m sorry but I don’t understand. What are you saying?” 

He adjusted himself on the couch, and crossed his legs; that stance reminded me that he was a powerful person. 

The Alpha’s expression softened as he looked at me, his eyes holding a mixture of sympathy and resolve. “Rue, what I mean is…I can’t let you go back to that place,” He said, his voice firm but gentle. “Not when I know the danger you’ll be facing.”
