Chapter 79. The Circus

I did not like the smirk on that guy’s face at all, seeing it sent shivers down my spine and I could not ignore the sinking feeling at the bottom of my stomach. 

The Gabriel guy turned to me and locked eyes with me. “Rue, honey.” He chuckled to himself. “Alpha Dacro here said that you may have talked with your wolf, is that true?” 

I had already started with a lie, I did not want to change my story. And most of all, I could not trust any of them in this room. “I didn’t, I swear,” I replied, but my voice was shaky. I hated that because it made it seem like I was lying, even though I was. 

“Are you sure?” 

I nodded and then swallowed. “I didn’t, I was knocked out and it was all darkness.” 

“Rue, it’s better you tell the truth then we can help you. But if you don’t, you would only be making this harder on yourself,” Darco explained, adjusting himself in the chair. “Spill.”
