The evening shadows stretched across the city as I unlocked the door to our apartment, a mixture of weariness and determination settling within me. The door creaked open, revealing a subdued atmosphere that echoed the somber mood outside. Vince, slouched on the couch, looked up as I entered, his eyes clouded with frustration.
